A lot of progress has been made since 1945, when Commendatore Boldrini founded the Pennelli Cinghiale company.

More than 75 years of success, innovation and change have led us to become the historic brand that we are today, widely recognised and deeply rooted in Italian culture - a leading name in the production of professional paintbrushes and rollers.

Our history is our identity, and our drive to keep improving.

THE BEGINNING
1930s

Commendatore Boldrini begins his artisan broom production business

1930
1945

The company Pennelli Cinghiale is founded, and the production of paintbrushes begins according to artisan practices, in Cicognara

1953-1955

The company takes shape and begins to grow, with the purchase of the first bristle blending machine from Germany

1963

The new production site is inaugurated in Cicognara

1970

Pennelli Cinghiale becomes the Italian leader
in the production of paintbrushes

1971

The company receives the Ambrogino d’Oro honour from the City of Milan

1972

Pennelli Cinghiale wins the Europa Mec award

1974

For the first time, the company receives the Gold Mercury award

1975-1977

The first Pennelli Cinghiale advertisements created by Ignazio Colnaghi appear on TV

THE FIRST ADS
1980

The company is among the pioneers in Italy for the digitisation of administrative processes

1982

The famous TV advert appears for the first time
“You don't need a big brush, but a great brush”

1985

New technologies for the automated production of rollers for professional painting

1990

Cinghiale broadens its reach in international markets to cover:
Greece, the Canaries, Cyprus, Malta, Israel, Croatia and Slovenia

1995

The company has a factory spanning 10,000 square metres where 50 employees work (this number is reduced over time due to the mechanisation of production) plus 40 sales representatives

1998

Catiuscia Boldrini, daughter of the Commendatore, takes over as president of Pennelli Cinghiale

2004

Cinghiale introduces the first thermo-fused rollers to the market

2005

The first "Plafonetta" super-light, anti-drip block brush by Cinghiale is born

2013

Cinghiale's research gives rise to an exclusive new synthetic filament: Boartex®, used in the innovative Technology range of paintbrushes

2014

Cinghiale expands its range with innovative paints of the highest quality

2017

The range of paints is completed by coloured enamel paints, primers and sprays

THE FULL RANGE
2018

Cinghiale fillers arrive on the market, with fast and super light versions, among others

INNOVATION
2021

Cinghiale's research and development gives rise to the first bicarbonate paint with over 95 percent natural ingredients.

Cinghiale and Seletti, a contemporary design brand, present a brand new collection of reusable paint containers, paintbrushes and rollers with appealing graphic designs.

Cinghiale is recognised as a Historic Brand of National Interest by the Ministry of Economic Development

2022

Pennelli Cinghiale obtains the Legality Rating

Pennelli Cinghiale inaugurates the Museum of Time, a journey through memory that gathers together archive documents, personal accounts, rare examples of industrial archaeology, awards and multimedia and multisensory content.
