Pennelli Cinghiale

A name you can rely on since 1945

from 1945 to today

OUR HISTORY

Back in 1945, Commendatore Boldrini founded the Pennelli Cinghiale company in Cicognara, in the province of Mantua, which is now in the hands of the third generation of the family.

The professionalism and skill of the people working within the company, combined with a strong sense of teamwork, have enabled Cinghiale products to continue to improve on a constant basis. This is why the company today is not only the leading name in the production of professional paintbrushes and rollers, but also a historical brand, deeply rooted in Italian culture for more than 75 years.

we never stop

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

We continuously invest in research and development in order to create products that offer better performance to all of our customers, ensuring impeccable results and time savings.

The quality of the paintbrushes used undoubtedly makes a difference when painting.

Over the previous two decades, our research has made it possible to produce synthetic filaments with levels of performance that are closer than ever to those offered by natural bristles.

Indeed, this continuous research is precisely what has led to the creation of innovative, high-performance synthetic filaments: Boartex® filaments, designed and trademarked by us at Cinghiale.

Similarly, when it comes to the manufacture of paint rollers, we are once again engaged in continuous research into cutting-edge fabrics and filaments, with a view to further improving paint application quality and ensuring evenness and speed.

The same degree of careful research goes into the formulation of our varnishes and paints, as we create new, innovative and Cinghiale products that would have been inconceivable just a few years ago: for example, our silver ion sanitising paint or our bicarbonate paint, made with over 95 percent natural ingredients and capable of absorbing odours and moisture.

In order to provide our customers with an even safer product, we have also developed a varnish formulation with a very low level of VOCs compared to that permitted by law. For us, the safety and satisfaction of the people who use our products are crucial elements in our ongoing research and development.

PRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION

In the 10,000 square metres dedicated to production, paintbrushes, rollers and paints of the highest quality are designed, manufactured, assembled and stored - high-performance products conceived and developed in order to guarantee excellent results for professionals and DIY lovers alike. As a company, we have surrounded ourselves with a further 40-plus specialised companies in the supply chain, with proven suppliers and experts in the use of the raw materials that we carefully select for all our products.

The company has a number of fully automated hi-tech plants for the production of paintbrushes and rollers.

Wherever possible, we use environmentally sustainable raw materials, which is why we now make 100% recycled and recyclable plastic paint pots, and have obtained FSC® Chain of Custody certification for the wood used in the production of the handles of many of our paintbrushes - this means that only raw materials from FSC-certified forests are used. In addition, from 2021 onwards, we will also be powering all of our plants using green energy produced exclusively from renewable sources, which marks an additional contribution to preserving and protecting our environment.

Distribution in specialist stores

Our product lines dedicated to professionals are sold at the best Italian and foreign paint and hardware stores, and we have a specific customer service team to support these retailers in selecting the most suitable products for their customers, to inform them of the latest Cinghiale developments, and to help them with restocking, or in resolving any issues that may arise.

Distribution through large scale and specialist retailers

Right from the start, we have supplied paintbrushes, rollers and paints to large scale and specialist retailers, offering our customers not only the high quality of our products, but also providing them with tailored services, such as the customisation of product lines, the integration between our systems and the customer's software, and a merchandising service to enable retailers to keep their counters perfectly tidy.

OUR LEADING PRODUCTS

  • 1. FLAT BRUSHES

These are the most widely-used brushes out there, suitable for any surface and any varnish, enamel paint, wood primer or water-based paint. Flat paintbrushes are designed for use on smaller surfaces, ideal for edging and cutting in, and for painting railings, furniture and various objects. The soft, flexible and resistant bristles are carefully selected to create ad-hoc blends for every different use.

  • 2. WALL BLOCK BRUSHES

Wall block brushes ("plafoni") are large brushes which are suitable for applying paint on walls and large surfaces. The drip-proof design of the paintbrush and the ergonomic, non-slip handle - combined with a continuous quest for ever higher performance filaments, such as Boartex® - are the key features of Cinghiale wall block brushes.

  • 3. PAINT ROLLERS

Wall rollers are an increasingly widely-used tool for painting walls and large surfaces. Easy to use, they are also perfect for DIY. The type of fabric used to make paint rollers is constantly evolving: microfibre, nylon, polyamide, wool... to ensure the best possible performance every time.

  • 4. PAINTS

Water-based paints with innovative, sanitising and bacteriostatic formulas, paints that ensure impeccable results, along with enamel paints, wood primers and anti-rust treatments... the production and distribution of paintbrushes and rollers is accompanied by Cinghiale-brand paints, designed to meet every need.

CERTIFICATIONS AND RESPECT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

Cinghiale products are subjected to quality controls that enable the operators and machines that make them to be traced and identified.

All the paints we make are manufactured in compliance with the regulations currently in force, and with a view to providing users with a safe product that will not damage their health. For this reason, we pay particular attention to VOCs in paints - that is, volatile organic compounds - and our water-based and standard paints have much lower levels of these substances than those permitted by law.

We have obtained FSC® Certification for the wood and paper materials used in many of our products. The FSC certification mark ensures that the entire wood-paper supply chain is based upon an approach to forestry management that is founded on practices that are environmentally friendly, socially beneficial and economically sustainable.

In addition, we only use recycled and recyclable plastic in the production of Cinghiale paint containers.
